Teresa: As we approached the seventh Full Moon we started to visualize a larger painting. We had been cooking this one for quite some time as "The Global Synthesis of Love", and this title urged us into contemplation of its content and composition. It was to be life-sized, and it would describe human existence in its expanded form as Planet Mind merged with Cosmic Consciousness. It was a huge concept to consider, and it required more effort than we had applied so far.

We had scheduled the painting for Full Moon, but got only as far as a large sketch on paper, as the idea took form.

It was a week later when we finally stretched canvas onto an eight-foot stretcher, primed the surface with pastel colors, and took flight with brushes and paint.

We worked a full three days from early morning to late night. We had relatively few differences in opinion as to the content, considering the wide array of elements we felt needed to be included.

There was some vacillation about the attitude of the hands and arms, so we included both ways: the lower hands are colored to represent healing and nurturance; the upper ones are raised to receive the gift of consciousness.

The main subject of debate was the inclusion of cultural references. In the end, we decided to keep it as universal as possible, leaving out Mayan hieroglyphs, Chinese I Ching hexagrams, and Sanskrit symbols, although the presence of these elements can be understood in the interpretation.

As we neared completion, we felt the title of the painting change. "Light Body Activation" describes the PROCESS the figure is engaged in. It is a dynamic energy, an action, AS WELL as a homeostatic, condition outside of space and time; a journey intrinsic in the destination, a destination intrinsic in the journey.

The destination is in the light at the top. The process is the growth arising from the primordial seed at the core of the Earth, along the meridians, up through the chakras, to flower at the crown.

Just as the energy rises, it also descends: the light from Spirit gives rise to physical form. The primordial radiates from the Seed at the core of Creation, mirroring the primordial, thus, causal nature in Spirit.

This painting is an invitation to all humanity enter into a fully activated state of awareness wherein lies unity with all of Creation. The doorway exists in every moment and place. Love is the key. Bliss is the home within.

Dwayne: Our friend Carol Trueman recently toured the English countryside in search of crop circles and reported her findings back home to Cortes Island. I experienced a number of striking synchronicities in relation to the images she sent. For example, the following image spoke to me of the fundamental structure of The Temple of the Feathered Serpent with the stepped pyramid structures indicating a lunar year of thirteen Moon cycles.

To my eye, the elongated rectangle at the top of each pyramid corresponds to the 7th Moon of a lunar year. It depicts the zone of expanded opportunity the 7th Moon of any lunar year provides us for opening to a greater Reality of Spirit. This is the same sort of opening Terry and I experienced during this, the 7th Moon of the current lunar year, as we painted what we initially called The Global Synthesis of Love !

Dwayne: As Terry said, this painting depicts the fusion of global awareness with universal awareness. In this process, the chakra system acts as a practical "lightning rod" , grounding this energy to the human vehicle. empowering it with life-giving energy and information.

As a whole system inherent in every human body, the chakras provide a universal interface for conscious entry into transcendent realms of consciousness.

The chakras represent the divinity inherent in our Earthly existence. They call us back to the divine Source of our physical bodies.

In the painting, the hands are depicted as mudras and can be modeled by anyone wishing to become empowered with transcendent energies. The ones filled with images of the Earth are giving hands, healing hands. The ones reaching up to the Light are receiving hands, cosmic receptors for the Earthly vehicle.

The meaning of "the hand" is "doing", "action", "will put into action". As Alex Grey says, "Art is love made manifest." Our hands are tools for that .

Astrologically speaking, the figure as-a-whole, represents the Chirotic "Rainbow Bridge linking the domain of Saturn (form) to that of Uranus ( free energy). Planet Chiron sits between the two and is here represented by both the hands of the figure and by the chakras.

Uranian empowerment occurs through facing our deepest wounds (Chiron) and fulfilling our limitations (Saturn). This is an omnipresent opportunity and requires only that we be willing to shed limiting beliefs about who we are and about what is possible for us.
