INTRODUCTION
"What
makes Feathered Serpent a king is his determination to alter
the course of his existence, to initiate a journey to which he
is forced only by inner necessity. He is Sovereign because he
obeys his own law instead of that of others; he is the source
and origin of movement."
Laurette Sejourne

THE FEATHERED SERPENT

The
inner quest for sacred knowledge is not a new one. Throughout
the ages men and women have sought spiritual revelation through
the awakening of an evolutionary life force commonly known as
Kundalini. This life force is symbolized in one of the most ancient
spiritual figures of the Americas: The Feathered Serpent. To
the Incas of South America, Feathered Serpent was known as Viracocha.
To the Mayas
of the Yucatan, Feathered Serpent was Kukulcan, and to the Mayas
of Guatemala, Gukamatz, the vision serpent. We are perhaps most
familiar with this figure as Quetzalcoatl,
the name chosen by the ancient Aztec peoples of Mexico.
The spiritual path of the Feathered Serpent, is one closely aligned
to natural cosmic cycles, especially those involving the Sun,
Moon, and Earth. Solstices, equinoxes, and the changing phases
of the moon are thus key elements of the celestial dimension
of this mythology. Added to this, is the singular beauty and
magnetism of planet Venus,
long associated with all forms of artistic expression.
Since humanity's earliest beginnings, the work of those who have
embodied the Feathered Serpent spirit, has been to help heal
and redeem a fragmented humanity, through a reawakening of sacred
view, and the re-establishment of sacred order. My purpose in
making the Temple of the Feathered Serpent available to you via
cyberspace, is to contribute meaningfully to this sacred work.
