A gorgeous evening, fabulous food and mellow tunes by a traveling guitar virtuoso. This fund raiser was a big success!

Norman shared profits 50/50 to support Cortes Self Sufficiency...all earnings will go towards fabulous workshops being hosted by CSS in early August. Watch for details.

Special thanks to Lovena for initiating this event and thanks to the many volunteers who contributed their time and energy to making it all happen.

The newly formed Centre for Cortes Self Sufficiency, behind and inside Trudes Cafe' in Whaletown was the perfect venue for an honoring party dedicated to the Center;'s founders, two of Cortes Island's finest communitarians.: Sedley Sweeney and Trude Allbright-Sweeney. People of all ages came together in very tangible feeling of harmony and goodwill that made real, the Cortes Self Sufficiency vision of promoting and supporting all aspects of sustainable living through working together for a happy healthy community.

The event was well attended and was a very auspicious beginning for the new enterprise. The recently transformed café is set to open for business June 15th as a cooperatively-run operation with Trude's world famous baking still a big part of the menu.
